In September 2020, China announced that it would increase its nationally determined contribution (NDCS) and adopt more effective policies and measures, aiming to peak CO2 emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. In order to implement the national goal of “dual carbon”, actively do a good job in carbon emission management and supply chain green barrier risk control, and lead the green and low-carbon development of recycling chemical fiber industry. From April 15, the company officially started the preliminary work of carbon inventory, which is to collect relevant data and find space for emission reduction by monitoring carbon emissions in the whole business process.
Carbon inventory is to calculate the greenhouse gases directly or indirectly emitted by an enterprise in all aspects of social and productivity activities. Only after the enterprise has specific and quantifiable statistics of carbon emissions in the whole business process can it find the space for emission reduction and formulate appropriate emission reduction plans. Collecting data is a crucial first step in effective carbon management. The company starts from two aspects. On the one hand, with the product as the core, the carbon emission of raw material acquisition, product cost, product distribution, product use, waste disposal and other whole process is preliminarized, so as to calculate the carbon emission of a single product in the whole life cycle from cradle to grave. On the other hand, starting from the factory, the preliminary inventory of greenhouse gas emissions generated by production and operation activities is carried out to collect the data of each production process……
The work is currently being accelerated and the first round of data collection is expected to be completed by the end of April. In the next step, the company will continue to promote the organizational form, decision-making mechanism and implementation of low carbon economy, carry out LCA carbon emission related knowledge training, improve the carbon management ability of enterprise management and related personnel, gradually establish and improve carbon management, and make contributions to promote the national carbon peak and carbon neutrality.
